An article in a recent issue of the New York Times made the case that great design can and has been spawned by economic bad times. Maybe the hard times of today will be the start of something positive. I’ve openly criticised some high profile buildings as not being “democratic”and by that I meant the design was elitist. Now, with budgets in mind, design will be forced to be more practical, more functional, but not necessarily less beautiful, maybe more so. Read more at New York Times »
